Rich Bassett
Founder, Chairman
Rich is a first-generation builder and the foundation on which Gen III was built. With more than 50 years of experience in the real estate industry, he has played a major role in shaping residential and commercial development throughout the Topeka area. Over the course of his career, Rich has served as a real estate broker for decades while also developing and constructing hundreds of single-family/custom homes, multi-family communities, and commercial properties. His decades of hands-on experience, market knowledge, and practical wisdom continue to guide Gen III’s leadership team.
Walker Bassett
Founder, CEO
Walker, Rich’s grandson, represents the third generation of builders in the family — the inspiration behind the Gen III name. He earned his law degree from Washburn Law School and is a licensed attorney. Rather than pursuing a traditional legal career, Walker chose to partner with his grandfather to pursue home building and development. Today, he brings deep knowledge of the Topeka market along with a creative, solutions-oriented mindset. Walker is known for his ability to think outside the box and turn clients’ ideas into thoughtfully designed, high-quality homes.
Dalton Cowan
COO
Dalton earned his MBA from Emporia State and built his background in sales and business development in the aerospace and defense manufacturing industry before stepping into real estate. As Chief Operating Officer, Dalton focuses on streamlining building processes, improving internal systems, and enhancing the overall client experience. He has a strong ability to understand each client’s vision and clearly communicate that vision to the team responsible for bringing it to life throughout the project.
Mace Veeder
Director of Construction
Before joining Gen III, Mace owned and operated Veeder Custom Homes for 25 years, building several hundred homes primarily in the Lawrence area. Throughout his career, he developed deep expertise in residential building codes, construction best practices, and the level of craftsmanship required for high-end homes. Mace oversees everything on the job site from beginning to end. He is responsible for scheduling, labor coordination, and quality management across all projects. His laser focus on site efficiency and detail helps ensure each home is built to the highest standards.
Adam Richardson
Foreman
Adam has been involved in construction for over 15 years and brings hands-on experience from multiple trades, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the building process. With a passion for carpentry, he has developed a sharp eye for detail and a craftsmanship that reflects the quality standard of Gen III homes. Adam is hands-on in the final stages of each build, focusing on the finishing touches that bring a client’s vision to life. In addition, he oversees warranty services to ensure that our clients continue to feel supported and well cared for after move-in.
